Suddenly

Fall has finally arrived in Florida. I’m very happy it did as this is my favorite season. The closing of a cycle. Shedding everything that doesn’t belong and getting ready for a new beginning. There is so much I want to write about, but my head has not been in the right place lately to properly put thoughts into words. All of these administrative tasks are killing my joy but I know they are very important. So they have my attention. They are good news I can’t wait to share later.

If you have made it this far, I know who you are. So let me speak freely.

Yesterday I saw a pink dragonfly land on Sam’s stretched leash and thought of you. It was the most amazing sight.

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about you. Your silence is slowly killing me. It leaves me to wander in a thick fog. I want to see you. I want to hear your voice telling me what your favorite part of every stop was, what has been bothering you. Why do you keep hiding in plain sight?

How is it going to be when you are on the other side of the planet? Am I going to keep writing into the void, hoping that you eventually read it, and maybe feel inclined to respond? I don’t think I can survive such a dynamic. It will only push me away. Have I not given you enough?

The day that I receive a note from you, written with your own words, might be the day my head combusts. My heart yearns for you. It keeps wanting to write its own love story. What would it be like to live outside of this fantasy? Would you still like me?

Did you visit me last night? I woke up, suddenly, having intoxicating thoughts of you. A few nights ago I could swear you were right next to me, whispering in my ear some of your inner desires. I could feel your hands, your warmth, your intensity. A possessive touch that made me shiver. What is distance really made of?

Every time I see you in your element, having fun, it makes me happy. Why do you have to look so handsome while you do it? Why can’t I be close enough to feel your lips on mine?

I feel your Heartbeat, baby.

Come home to me.
