Missedspell

I get it.
It’s complicated.
I’m told you’ve been hurt.

In the linearity of time,
that is the past tense.

So, are you hurting?
Or, are you running
scared?
Did I misspell it?

You thought sacred, instead.
Or, did you misspell it too?

It keeps saying saved.
It keeps saying not right now.
It keeps saying that is all it was.

Despite the disguise,
I see right through it.

It was a tall order.
Something you are not
ready to receive.

Swords were drawn.
In a flinching duel,
we stood.
Guards up.

We swung it.
You first.
I, last.

Was it lost?
Did we misspell it again?

Maybe, neither of
us is ready.

This picture
has too much contrast.

If we were subdued,
we would please the eyes.
They’d hang us in a gallery.
Visit often.

But there is
too much contrast.

If colors blend too much,
and we can’t see where
one ends, and
the other begins,
are we evolving,
or fading?

You have lived amplified.
Holding the mic.

On the other side of the line
I was revived.

I have lived subdued.
Constantly misconstrued.

I want to live in high definition.
Crystal clear audio.

But you dropped the mic.
The audio faded.

Now we rest apart
uncreated.
